The Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective video game is an adventure game. The plot of Spirit Trick centers on Sissel, a recently deceased protagonist with amnesia, and his endeavors to learn more about his past life and the circumstances surrounding his death.
In the context of the adventure game spirit Trick, players assume the role of Sissel, a spirit whose supernatural abilities are used to save others. During gameplay segments, the players have the option to swap between the Land of the Living, where time passes normally, and the Ghost World, where time remains still.
Sissel can move between objects within the Ghost World so long as they are within a certain distance of one another. These items have blue centers, and in the Land of the Living, Sissel can animate them to perform "Ghost Tricks." These "Ghost Tricks" can either create new paths or influence the surrounding characters. For instance, if you move a tray of doughnuts, Sissel will gain access to new regions, and a character will be forced to alter their seating position.
