Dream and Quackity are pals in the Dream SMP fanbase, and their friendship is known as "Loud Duo." Dream begged Quackity for assistance once more, and he smiled at the fact that the two of them had the same notion. Quackity didn't respond to any of Dream's texts, but the two ended up meeting. Dream stated that their supporters were filled with hatred and fighting, and he urged that they discuss things out instead of fighting. After a few days, Dream suspected Quackity was upset with him because he thought Dream had stolen his concept. Quackity wasn't reacting to Dream either, according to folks the two mutual pals. Dream told Quackity about a week later that he loved her and that a Minecraft SMP wasn't important enough to ruin their friendship. Dream stated that he did not want to compete with or be like Quackity.

After TommyInnit offered it, Quackity was added to the Dream SMP, Dream's Minecraft server, in August 2020. Quackity and Dream didn't talk much when they initially met, but they became closer after meeting GeorgeNotFound. To Dream, Quackity was the funniest person he knew, he thought.

Following the closure of the Dream SMP, both Dream and Quackity announced new Minecraft SMPs, United SMP and Quackity SMP, respectively. Both servers were multilingual, and both had translation mods released around the same time. This sparked considerable controversy among fans, who claimed that one content creator duplicated the other. Dream discussed the "drama," claiming that he and Quackity accidentally worked on the same project but kept it a secret and fought over it. He also stated that he does not despise Quackity and that he adores him. Dream also stated that all he wanted to do was have fun with his pals and that he despises it when people downplay Quackity's achievements in the game world. Because of Quackity, Dream suggested that people try to construct bridges.

Dream said it again afterwards, but in a much lengthier thread. He stated once more that he and Quackity worked on their projects independently and had the same basic goal, which was to create a new Minecraft server for people to play on. Dream claims that he got the idea for a translation mod after imagining a Minecraft server where people from all around the world could play together.

Dream contacted Quackity after he disclosed the QSMP to offer his support and to let him know that he was also working on a server to connect people from all around the world together. Because Quackity's server had not mentioned translation, Dream reasoned that the QSMP and USMP might collaborate and that he could offer Quackity the translation mod if he so desired. When Dream didn't hear back from Quackity, he assumed it was because Quackity was too busy.

Dream spoke with other QSMP members, who informed him that the QSMP and the USMP were not the same entity. Dream continued to work on the USMP, and he had Quackity in charge of the server's Spanish community. On April 1, Dream posted his translation hack video, thinking it was a joke. Soon after, Quackity published a translation mod for his server, which made Dream upset because he knew the scenario would end badly. Dream was also thrilled to communicate with Quackity about their initiatives, which were both very important to them.

Fanon:

Dream elaborated on the matter further during the chat. Following the Dream incident, Quackity removed Dream's emotes and modified his Twitch chat so that Dream's name was obscured. Because of how energetic they were and how rarely they talked to one other, the Loud duo was initially a supported couple. However, other onlookers noticed that the two didn't talk much and appeared to be uncomfortable with each other. Nonetheless, the two had supporters, and they currently have over 630 works on AO3.

When the "drama" between the Loud Duo became well-known, many people sided with Quackity. They thought Dream was immature for writing so much about the matter in public, and they pointed out that Quackity had discussed the QSMP in public, despite Dream's claim that he kept the project private. Quackity liked a tweet that said Quackity had been discussing the QSMP since at least January 2023.[7] Others agreed with Dream and stated that if Quackity had responded, Dream would not have had to discuss it in public. Some individuals didn't care who was right or wrong, just that Dream and Quackity discussed it. Others who did not select a side made jokes to make light of the issue, and some believed fighting over Minecraft sites was ridiculous.
