Due to recent floods and storm damage in the Old Forge and Tupper Lake locations, all train rides to and from Tupper Lake have been halted until August 31, 2023, to allow for track repairs. We are collaborating with city and state officials to repair any damage to the track. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS), which operates the Adirondack Railway, wishes to maintain and restore train service between the High Peaks region, Central New York, and other locations via Utica rail links. ARPS collaborates with towns and businesses along the route to promote the railway as a driver of economic progress and to educate people about its history and environmental impact.
By adding more rail and coordinated trail-based services, we hope to make it easier for people of all ages and physical abilities to access inaccessible areas of the Adirondack Park.
In all of its activities or operations, the Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS) does not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
